Al Nafoorah – Jumeirah Emirates Tower

What better way to end your weekend then a relaxing evening with sheesha and some fine Lebanese cuisine. Yes, I was at Al Nafoorah this week for a tasting and enjoying myself thoroughly with the beautiful view of the Burj Khalifa in this perfectly cold climate. I didn’t really expect this place to be busy but to my surprise it was packed.image

After being seated we were greeted by the courteous staff who shared with us some insights about this restaurant. The menu is fascinatingly filled with some delectable dishes and I couldn’t wait to try them. We ordered a mix of cold and hot mezzeh so it was a decent combination to opt.image

Within seconds the cold mezzeh were presented with some hot breads.
*Shanklish – Grated pieces of cheese mixed with some herbs was a hearty dish to have. A drizzle of olive oil makes it wonderful too.
*Baba Ghannouj – Not a lover of eggplant but this dish is cooked flawlessly that you are tempted to eat even the last bite.
*Mohamarah – Velvety silk paste of walnut with a hint of chili was my favorite since it taste fabulous.image

The hot mezzah did take a while but that made me content because they were surely preparing the dishes and not just warming up the pre cooked dishes.
*Al Nafoorah Hummus – Mellow pieces of meat with a crunch of pinenuts is always my classic choice since you cannot go wrong with it.
*Moshakala – This dish had a mix of some classic light bites like Sambusek, Kebbah, Fattayer and Cheese rolls. Each one was uniquely good in its own way.image

I was delighted to know the mains were not too heavy like the appetizers in fact it was healthy since we stuck to some non fat dishes like Grilled Chicken and Summon Fillet with Chili sauce. Both the dishes were cooked to perfection, it was satisfying and filling for the stomach  .image

We enjoyed our dessert in the outdoor area of the restaurant which overlooked the Burj while I enjoyed a puff or two of my partners smooth Sheesha. Bakalava with Moroccon Tea were a perfect combo to enjoy this fab climate even more. Even though this place is a bit pricey considering other Lebanese restaurants, the food, ambience and the service all are top notch and for this amazing night I wouldn’t mind paying a bit extra.image
