There are some restaurants that no matter how many times you go there it just doesn’t seem enough, for me that restaurant is Mint Leaf of London. Yes I was recently invited to try the Ala Carte menu and believe me I was spellbound by everything this place has to offer. Spread across the entire 15th floor this restaurant has more to offer then just good food. From the fantastic modern interiors to the breathtaking views I don’t think you can complain much.
Make sure when you head here you are pretty hungry I think only then you can do full justice to the food here. The menu is quite intriguing and will leave you wondering what you should try since most of the dishes are simply spectacular. After being seated in front of the gorgeous view of the Burj I couldn’t stop but admire the beauty of Dubai, this place has a beautiful ambiance which makes you pretty romantic too.
For the drinks I went for their signature Peach Julep which comes with a magnificent presentation. So much of attention has been put just for this one drink is truly remarkable, taste wise no doubt it was fab. Husband decided to opt for the simple Pink Lemonade.
After a great confusion on what we should order we finally decided to go with the Non-Veg Platter and another of their specialties called Aloo Chat. The non-veg platter consisted some of the most tendersome and perfect flavored meat. My most favorite was the Salmon and Chicken Lahori Boti. The meat literally melts in your mouth. For the Aloo Chat who would have thought that even a simple dish like this could taste so divine, you have to try it to believe me. Covered in a tangy tamarind sauce this dish came as a surprise and a true winner in taste and flavours.
My main course consisted of :-
Chooza Khada Masala :- I felt this dish was a bit let down for me compared to the other dishes we had here. It could have had more gravy and I would prefer it more flavourful.
Bhoona Hiran :- Oh the meat was so tender and juicy if you want to try one of the best venison you should come here. Laid on a bed of beetroot rice which went stunningly well with the gravy it surely is a meat lovers dish.
Potli Biryani :- Being a Biryani lover this unique dish surely stood up to all my expectations. Cooked in a pot of bread and presented amazingly well with the tender some lamb with a hint of spice made me remember my mom’s biryani.
And now for the desserts which I was eagerly waiting for because I have been told the chef has used all his creativity to come up with some really special desserts.
Gulab Jamun Cheesecake – Yes, you heard it right its cheesecake which is very well executed because in each bite you can get the taste of Gulab Jamun. Presentation wise too it looked gorgeous and flavour wise it is fantastic.
Rasmalai Shots – This dessert comes in a long tray served with few other dishes like Rose Ice-cream and Masala Tea Creme Brule. I loved the Rasmalai shots but wasn’t too impressed by the Creme Brulee it just didn’t had that wow factor in it.
Overall this place is surely one of the fine dining restaurant which doesn’t fails to impress. The staff is very warm and friendly and I would like to thank Abhijeet for taking such good care of us.
