There is a big possibility that if you are heading to Dubai Opera, you might have thought of dining there as well. Chef Sean Connolly has had a great start of the year with his restaurant being a part of the iconic attraction in Dubai. He is well known in Australia and New Zealand where he has quite a few restaurants. The menu here is kept simple with some contemporary dishes.
The interiors of this place have been done up beautifully, and they even have an outdoor deck which is perfect for the cooler months. The best part about being here is that you don’t have to spend a fortune to dine here, the prices of each dish are relatively decent.
We began with a selection of sashimi from their raw bar; it comes in a pretty incased bowl of ice. Salmon, Hamachi and Tuna, all of the three types of meats were extremely rich, and with a hint of wasabi, it was an excellent serve.
Watermelon Salad and Grilled White Peaches with Mozzarella were another few of the appetisers. Needless to say both of the entrees not only looked appealing but had a luscious texture as well, I could have the watermelon salad for a month without complaining.
Onto the mains, we had a beautiful portion of Mushroom Gnocchi and Sea Bass along with a side of some crisp fries and one of the best-sautéed carrots I have had. The Mushroom Gnocchi was divine, and the Seabass was wonderfully cooked with a delish sauce.
We ended our meal with Hazelnut Semi Freddo and a Opera cake both of which were a perfect ending to our meal here.
I am yet to catch a show at the Opera house, but when I do come around, a meal here is mandatory.
